Your first steps

  1. Get a wallet. The Garlicoin Wallet runs in your browser, and your key stays on your device. It's for everyday amounts. For savings, use Garlicoin Core on a computer (our bootstrap file speeds up its first sync).
  2. Find your address. Tap Receive in the Garlicoin Wallet, or open the Receive tab in Garlicoin Core.
  3. Get free GRLC. Roll the faucet every 8 hours and enter the daily Block Lotto. Coins usually arrive within a minute.
  4. Send your first GRLC. Pay a friend's address or @name, or send a gift link to someone without a wallet.
  5. Have fun with it. Play free games, write on the wall or print a gift card.

Keep your coins safe

  • Save your key. Whoever has the key has the coins. Back it up off the device (Garlicoin Core: File → Backup Wallet).
  • Use a passphrase you won't forget: nobody can reset it.
  • Never share your key, wallet file or passphrase. Nobody legitimate will ask.
  • Copy and paste addresses. Coins sent to a wrong address are lost for good. Check an address.

Is my wallet synced?

In Garlicoin Core, open Help → Debug window and enter the Current number of blocks. On a server: garlicoin-cli getblockcount.
