Mine a block
See what miners really do. Your browser tries hash after hash until one comes out small enough, baking a pretend block on top of the real Garlicoin chain. Pick a difficulty and press start.

Every hash is a lottery ticket. The average is shown above, but luck decides.

The block you're building
A real 80-byte block header: version, previous block, merkle root, time, bits and nonce. Only the nonce changes while you mine.

What's real and what's pretend
- The previous block, the height and the layout of the header are real: you're building on the live Garlicoin chain, and the previous block updates as new ones are baked.
- The hash is pretend. Real Garlicoin blocks are hashed with Allium, a chain of six memory-hard functions designed to keep mining on ordinary CPUs and graphics cards. Your browser uses double SHA-256, the Bitcoin way, because it's fast in JavaScript.
- Difficulty here is the number of zero bits the hash must start with. Every extra bit doubles the work. The real network's target is far, far smaller than anything you can pick here.
- Nothing is broadcast and nothing is earned. To mine real GRLC, see Mining.
