Claim a block

Every block on the Garlicoin chain has its own garlic bulb, drawn from the block's hash. Pick a block that means something to you, like the one from your birthday, and claim it as yours for 5 GRLC. Each block can only be claimed once.

Does my name go inside the old block?
No. Blocks can never be changed once they're baked, not by us and not by anyone. Your claim is a short note written into a new block, and it points back to the block you picked by its number. The old block stays exactly as it was.
So what do I actually get?
A public, permanent claim. Your name shows on that block here and on the live blocks page, and the claim note sits on the chain where anyone can check it. It isn't money, and it isn't a token you can sell. It's a keepsake, like a star named after you.
Where does the garlic come from?
It's drawn from the block's hash, so nobody picks it, not even us. Golden, black and twin bulbs are rare.
Can someone take my block?
No. The first paid claim wins, and nobody can claim that block after you.
Where does the money go?
All of it, minus a tiny network fee, goes to the faucet that gives free coins to new people.
What can I write?
Words only. No links, and names and lines go through the same word list as the wall.
