Questions
- What do I get?
- A page at garlicoin.org/@yourname that shows your address, a QR code to pay it, and quick tip buttons. Share that link anywhere: it's easier to type and remember than an address.
- How long does it last?
- Forever. There's no renewal and nothing more to pay.
- How is it recorded?
- A short public note like "name mike G…" is written into the next block, so anyone can check which address a name points to and when it was registered. The first paid registration of a name wins.
- Can I change the address later?
- Not yet. The name points to the address you register it with, so use an address from a wallet you'll keep.
- What names are allowed?
- 3 to 20 lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Some names are reserved (like garlicoin, faucet or admin), and names that impersonate someone or break the wall's word list can be taken back.
- Where does the money go?
- All of it, minus a tiny network fee, goes to the faucet that gives free coins to new people.
